Wedding Pictures!

Finally . . . I know . . . a new blog! :-)

Here is a link to our wedding slideshow: www.doveweddingphotography.com/slideshow/JillChrisWedding

and to our wedding pictures: http://www.pictage.com/548315

A reading from our wedding:

On Friendship (Roy Croft)

“I love you, not for what you are, but what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me you bring out. I love you for putting your hand into my heaped up heart and passing over all the frivolous and weak things you cannot help seeing there, and drawing out into light all the beautiful and radiant things that no one else has looked quite far enough to find. You have done it without a touch, without a sign. You have done it by being yourself.”

Enjoy!

Wedding Update!

With Amy's help (http://www.williamsoncountyweddings.com/) we have made a lot of progress on the wedding! And she makes it fun!

We had 2 Thursday night meetings with her and met with all of our vendors in those time frames. We got almost everything taken care of in those two meetings including rentals, lighting, cake, flowers, DJ, videography, invitations, and catering!

This has been so helpful being new to town, starting to get busy with work, and now figuring out how we are going to move all of our stuff down from Indy by the end of February since the house sold! Yay! (Assuming nothing falls through and the inspection goes well, etc. . . . not trying to jump the gun or anything!)

It is sad and exciting at the same time. Of course we will miss "The Stephens Inn" and all of the good times we have had there, including the first ever Hillbilly Days, family gatherings, dinners on the deck in the summer, the wonderful fires Chris would build and on and on. However, it is a huge reflief considering we can finally feel like we are making a fresh start in the city we are growing to love! My "home" is with Chris, no matter where our life leads us and wherever our feet may land.

Think sunny and therefore it is . . .

With the dreary and cold weather (40 feels cold to me now) I am a little jealous of my parents and grandparents soaking up the sun in Naples, Florida. They keep sending pictures and calling to say how nice it is. Must be nice! Some of my favorite pictures . . .

2009 - New Year, New Beginnings

We had a great New Years with special friends & family. Chris' brother, Josh, drove many hours to come down for a few days over his break, and Angela and Steve made the long trip down from Indy. We also hung out with Nate and Stephanie . . . our fellow Indy friends that made the big move down to Nashville as well!

We wanted to show them where we like to go to listen to live music, so we took them to Tootsies (which was packed and decorated to the point where you couldn't see 2 feet in front of you). So, we continued to The Stage where there were seats and no charge to get in and enjoy the atmosphere!

My favorite moment was at midnight when Chris said, "It's 2009, the year we will get married."

Christmas Vacation

One of our favorite DVD's to pull out at Christmas is of course Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. Chris can recite every word . . . just as you think he knows one line he continues to quote a whole scene! I don't know when the first time I saw it was, but every time I see it I go back (as Kenny says). One of our quirky traditions that I hope never ends. . . .

Our Christmas vacation started with our own little celebration at the Melting Pot in downtown Nashville. Chris gave me a gift card last Christmas for there, and as I do . . . I "saved" it for a special occasion. . and it was perfect.

Wednesday, Christmas Eve - Williams Family, Louisville, KY

Thursday, Christmas Day - Stephens Family, Hamilton, OH

Chris & Chloe dancing in BW3's :-)
Our first time learning how to play guitar hero . . . I can see how it is addicting!

Saturday - Louisville, KY - We got to see my brother & his family, as well as Grandpa & Betty who drove up from Elizabethtown for our full family celebration. I had to take a picture at the table as that is my favorite place around the holidays . . . for the food and the company. :-)

We made it a country Christmas, and bought the kids cowboy boots and hats:
Chris must have been good this year:

Sunday - We got to meet up with Heather & John Boyd for breakfast (Chris' friends from Denver, CO that were visiting family in Louisville as well). Isabella is their cute little daughter that we enjoyed getting to see again!
